Japanese national holidays

The following holidays are established according to the National Holidays Act.

*If one of the above national holidays falls on a Sunday, the next closest day which is not a holiday will be considered as a holiday.
*A day between two national holidays automatically becomes a national holiday. *Exact dates for Vernal Equinox Day and Autumnal Equinox Day are not stipulated in the Act. The National Astronomical Observatory of Japan announces the upcoming year’s dates in the Official Gazette in February.
