Fukuoka City International Foundation Email provides monthly information on news and events related to international exchange and cooperation in the Fukuoka area. It’s the last month of the year 2021. One of the biggest events that happened this year was the Tokyo Olympic Games and Paralympic Games held in July and August. Many people enjoyed the sports and the athlete’s performances on TV or online streaming. Fukuoka City will host the 19th FINA World Championships 2022 in May next year. This will be the first FINA World Championships to be held in Japan for 20 years. Hopefully we can witness the excitement of Tokyo Games in Fukuoka again.

4) Free Counseling for Foreign Residents

5) Foreign Student Lecture Series “My Hometown and Fukuoka”
This is a monthly lecture series in which a foreign student residing and studying in Fukuoka is invited to share information about his/her hometown and culture. Through this series, we can learn about the student’s lifestyle, goals while in Fukuoka and vision for the future.
This will be a one-hour lecture session with 10-min. Q&A time as for the preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19. Appointment necessary.

1) Fukuoka City COVID-19 Vaccination Program
The Fukuoka City website offers information on the COVID-19 vaccination program such as:
how to book your vaccination, vaccination sites (mass vaccination centers, and regional clinics and hospitals), vaccinations for residents aged 12 to 15, requesting a new vaccination ticket when you move-in to Fukuoka City, applying for a Certificate of Vaccination for COVID-19, and more.
Please keep your vaccination ticket safe as you will need it when you make an appointment for the vaccination and when you get the vaccination at the vaccination site.

8) Announcement from MAFF Animal Quarantine Service
Animal Quarantine Service MAFF in Japan have strengthened import quarantine to prevent the incursion of animal infectious diseases from entering into Japan from overseas.
You cannot bring in most of meat products (such as meat, ham and sausages) for souvenir and personal use. Above rules apply if they are bought in a shop and sent by international parcel.
If you bring meat products illegally, you would be punishable with imprisonment for not more than 3 years or a fine up to 3 million yen (50 million yen for business).

4) 福岡県外国人材受入企業講習会
平成31年4月の改正入管法の施行等、外国人材受入れに係る制度の整備に伴い、本県でも外国人材の受入れを希望する企業の増加が見込まれます。一方、外国人材の受入れに際しては、在留資格や労働関係法令等、事業主には理解・遵守すべき多くの法令があります。そのため、県では、外国人労働者が在留資格の範囲内でその能力を十分に発揮し適正に就労できるように、県内企業を対象に、窓口での相談対応や、講習会を実施します。ご利用はすべて無料ですので、ぜひご利用ください。

9) 動物検疫所からのお知らせ
農林水産省動物検疫所では、世界各地で発生している家畜の伝染病を日本に侵入させないため、入国者の手荷物検査を強化しています。
海外からのほとんどの肉製品（ハムやソーセージなどを含む）は、お土産や個人消費用であっても日本へ持ち込むことができません。店舗で購入したものや国際郵便などで送られるものも対象となります。
違法に肉製品を持ち込んだ場合には、3年以下の懲役又は300万円以下（法人の場合は5,000万円以下）の罰金が科せられる可能性があります。ご注意ください。

2) 福岡日仏協会 2021年12月卓話
2019年4月15日、炎によりノートルダム大聖堂の数世紀来の屋根組みが焼失し、その構造の堅固さがおびやかされました。パリで一番の観光スポットである大聖堂が、ノートルダム史上最悪な火災に見舞われました。大聖堂にオマージュを込めて、大聖堂の建設や歴史を紹介、火災の状況と今後の再建計画について解説します。模型も用意！入場無料。要予約。
