Moving

Moving within the City (changing residence/area)

You also need to submit notifications when you move within Fukuoka City.

Moving within the same ward

If you move within the same ward of your previous residence, submit a change of residence notification to the Citizen Section of that ward office within 14 days of moving. You will then need to separately complete address change procedures for National Health Insurance and Child Allowance.

Moving to a different ward

If you move to a different ward within Fukuoka City, submit a change of residence notification to your new local ward office. If your child is transferring schools, procure a student registration certificate from your child’s previous school before moving and submit it together with the Fukuoka City Municipal School Enrollment Form to the new school.

You will need to convert your National Health Insurance and Child Allowance, so be sure to bring your insurance card and children’s medical certificate when completing procedures.

Moving out of Fukuoka City (moving out)

When you move out of Fukuoka City, you need to submit a notification of moving out to your local ward office.
